South Korea's MFG bought 66,000 tonnes corn in private deal

HAMBURG: South Korea's Major Feedmill Group (MFG) has purchased around 66,000 tonnes of corn to be sourced from optional origins in a private deal without an international tender being issued, European traders said on Thursday.

The corn was purchased at $203.99 a tonne c&f plus a $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading. Seller was believed to be trading house Cargill.

It was for arrival in Korea around July 10. Korean importer NOFI also bought 69,000 tonnes of corn in a tender, European traders said on Thursday.
