SAO PAULO: Brazil's 2017/18 second corn crop has been estimated at 57.2 million tonnes by AgRural, a 4.5 percent drop from its April estimate, the consultancy said on Monday, citing a reduction in planted area and below-average rains.
Brazil's 2017/18 total corn crop is expected to reach 83.9 million tonnes this season, compared with 97.8 million tonnes estimated by the government for the prior crop cycle.
