LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari paid a surprise visit to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

During the visit, she met patients individually in different wards and inquired about the medical facilities and treatment being provided to them. Patients expressed satisfaction with the healthcare facilities and treatment arrangements at the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Azma Bokhari said that the availability of modern machinery, high-quality medical equipment and state-of-the-art healthcare facilities at PIC reflected the progress being made in the health sector across Punjab. She appreciated the hospital’s cleanliness arrangements and commended doctors and paramedical staff for their courteous behaviour and respectful interaction with patients.

She said that ensuring the timely provision of public services and basic facilities was the true essence of good governance. “The prayers of patients carry immense significance and are often answered swiftly,” she remarked. She added that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision was to ensure that people received quality healthcare with dignity, care and convenience.

Azma Bokhari further said that the provision of modern healthcare facilities reflected the Chief Minister’s commitment to improving the health sector. The initiatives being undertaken in Punjab for public welfare, she added, would be remembered for generations to come.
