ISLAMABAD: An Anti- Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday issued notices to the prosecution on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI’s) senior leader and former speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser’s petition seeking the removal of his name from Exit Control List (ECL) in case registered against him and under terrorism charges.

ATC judge Abul Hasanat Muhammad Zulqarnain, while hearing Qaiser’s petition, issued notices and sought replies from the prosecution and defence.

Earlier, the PTI’s leader filed an application through his counsel requesting to remove this name from the no-fly list.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 12.

Meanwhile, another proceeding was adjourned in the judge-threatening case against incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, after court staff informed the judge that no response had yet been received from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding a request to conduct his trial in jail.

Civil Judge Mian Azhar Nadeem, while hearing the case, inquired about the reply of the letter he had sent to the IHC, seeking permission for a jail trial of the accused. Court staff informed the judge that no reply had been received from the IHC so far.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till December 8.
