IK meets lawyers after 7-month gap

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: Incarcerated founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, met his lawyer in jail after a gap of seven months.

Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, said in an X post on Monday that jail authorities facilitated a 40-minute meeting with Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, at 4:30 pm.

He said that following repeated applications and requests, he met Khan after seven months and Bushra Bibi after 11 months.

“The session was insufficient to cover all cases and legal matters. Both briefed me on their health and living conditions and gave fresh instructions regarding certain legal matters and cases,” he said.

Khan has remained incarcerated at Adiala Jail since August 2023, facing multiple cases following his ouster from power in April 2022.
