LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday paid tribute to the martyrs of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued moral and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
In a message marking Kashmir Black Day, observed to condemn India’s occupation of the territory on Oct 27, 1947, she described the day as a dark chapter in world history.
“The stain of October 27 is becoming increasingly evident on the face of Indian leadership,” she said, adding that Kashmir and Pakistan were inseparable and that no one could sever their ties.
The chief minister said the Kashmir dispute was no longer an issue concerning a single country but had become a matter of international concern. She said Pakistan would continue to present the Kashmir case before the international community.
Reaffirming solidarity with the Kashmiri people, the CM said Pakistan will persist with its policy of extending moral and diplomatic support to them.
She expressed confidence that the sacrifices of millions of innocent Kashmiris would not go in vain and that the people of the Indian occupied territory would eventually see the dawn of freedom.
