KARACHI: Rotary International District 3271 brought together nearly 300 cyclists, Rotarians, health partners, and community members for the “Let’s Ride Out Polio” Bicycle Rally, in a powerful demonstration of unity and public support for a polio-free Pakistan.

The colourful early-morning rally saw participants gather at PIDC before rolling out together towards Port Grand under one clear message: ending polio requires the active commitment and participation of the entire community. The event highlighted Rotary’s longstanding commitment to polio eradication and its ongoing collaboration with government and international health organizations.

The occasion was attended by distinguished guests and leadership, including Iqbal Memon, Additional Chief Secretary; Aziz Memon, National PolioPlus Committee Chair; Dr. Jorge G. Caravotta, UNICEF Team Lead; Javed Nabi Khoso, Deputy Commissioner South; Shahzad Sabir, Rotary District Governor; PDG Dr. Farhan Essa; PDG Aftab Imam; and DGE Fahad Sikander, alongside dedicated Rotarians, representatives of partner organizations, cycling group leadership, and community members.

Speaking on the occasion, the distinguished guests renewed their collective commitment to eradicating polio from Pakistan, emphasizing that reaching every last child requires continuous collaboration between government bodies, Rotary International, global partners, and local communities.

The gathering delivered a striking message: when hundreds of people take to the streets with one shared purpose, it sends a powerful message of hope and solidarity across the city. Every child deserves a future protected from paralyzing, vaccine-preventable diseases, and Rotary alongside its partners remains steadfast until the goal is achieved.

Rotary District 3271 extended special appreciation to event partners PSO and SCG, whose generous support helped, make the initiative possible, as well as the Health Department Government of Sindh, EOC Sindh, and the Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme.

Recognition was also extended to the event organizing committee, Rotary team members, support staff, volunteers, and participating cycling group administrators who worked behind the scenes to ensure smooth ride coordination, safety, and morning logistics.

The rally concluded at Port Grand with a brief awareness session honoring polio frontline workers, followed by fellowship and a complimentary breakfast celebrating both a successful event and a renewed pledge toward protecting Pakistan’s children.
