Forced loadshedding: ‘New grid stations, additional power transformers needed in Hyderabad’
HYDERABAD: According to the HESCO spokesperson, Member of the National Assembly and Member of the Standing Committee on Energy, Syed Waseem Hussain, while speaking during a meeting held at the HESCO Conference Hall about the electricity transmission system, the elimination of forced loadshedding and improved electricity supply to consumers, said that new grid stations, additional power transformers and a dual-source 500 kV system are needed to eliminate forced loadshedding in Hyderabad and ensure a better and more stable electricity supply for domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural consumers.
He said that providing better electricity is their objective and that establishing new grid stations and new 11 kV feeders is essential to further improve the electricity transmission system. Additional power transformers should be installed at the NGC Jamshoro Grid Station, while a dual-source 500 kV system is urgently needed to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply. In addition, a 500 kV grid station should be established in Nawabshah.
He said that he would discuss these matters with the responsible officials of the National Grid Company (NGC). He would also approach the Managing Director and other concerned officials regarding the installation of additional power transformers at the 500 kV grid station in Jamshoro, so that forced load-shedding can be eliminated throughout Hyderabad, Sanghar and Mirpur Khas.
He further emphasized that effective measures should be taken to eliminate forced load-shedding in Hyderabad through the 630 kV AC/DC grid station at Matiari, ensuring a better and more stable electricity supply for domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural consumers.
On this occasion, HESCO Chief Executive Officer Faizullah Dahri said that HESCO management is taking practical measures to provide better facilities to consumers, improve electricity supply and provide them with relief.
Transferring 79 HESCO 11 kV general feeders to zero-load-shedding status is an important achievement, enabling consumers in the relevant areas to receive uninterrupted electricity. This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of HESCO officers, engineers, field staff and other relevant teams.
The Chief Executive Officer further said that HESCO management’s foremost priority is to ensure a better and more reliable electricity supply to consumers, resolve their problems and further improve the organization’s performance.
