ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to collective defence, pledging to immediately translate the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement into effective military cooperation amid growing security threats to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The commitment was made during a high-level meeting of the Chiefs of Defence Forces and Chiefs of General Staff of the three countries in Riyadh on Friday, September 25, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

The military leadership strongly condemned the attacks targeting the Holy City of Makkah and Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure, while reaffirming their determination to defend the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The participants reviewed the evolving security situation and threats facing Saudi Arabia and appreciated the vigilance and professionalism of the Saudi Armed Forces in ensuring the safety of the population and the security of the Kingdom.

During the meeting, the military leadership discussed measures to strengthen cooperation among the armed forces of the three countries, with particular emphasis on enhanced intelligence sharing, military coordination and capability integration.

The discussions focused on strengthening deterrence and collective defence through closer military collaboration under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.

The participants also acknowledged the longstanding relations and mutual trust among the people and armed forces of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

They noted that the Riyadh meeting reflected the strength of their defence partnership and their shared determination to translate the commitments of the trilateral agreement into effective military cooperation without delay.

The military leadership strongly reaffirmed its collective defence commitment, demonstrating the resolve of all three countries to safeguard Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
