Hunan Resources SMC (Private) Limited has resumed operations at its industrial facility in Dhabeji, Sindh, after the factory remained closed since February, following intervention by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the company said in a letter.

In a letter dated September 15, addressed to the SIFC, the company said its factory had remained closed since February 2026.

“Our factory had remained closed since February 2026, resulting in substantial financial losses to the company and significantly affecting our investment, operations, and business commitments. Despite our continuous efforts, the matter remained unresolved for a considerable period,” read the letter, shared by SIFC.

The company did not disclose the nature of the issue.

Hunan Resources expressed appreciation for SIFC’s intervention and coordination in resolving the matter concerning its industrial facility.

“We highly value the role played by SIFC in facilitating investors and addressing genuine operational challenges. The support extended to us has helped protect our investment and has strengthened our confidence in continuing our business and investment activities in Pakistan,” it said.

The reopening of the facility reflects the impact of coordinated investment facilitation in addressing investor concerns and supporting the continuity of industrial operations, said SIFC.

“SIFC continues to facilitate investors through a whole-of-government approach, focusing on resolving legitimate business concerns, strengthening investor confidence and creating a more conducive environment for investment and industrial activity.

“SIFC remains committed to facilitating investment, safeguarding investor interests and supporting sustainable industrial growth in Pakistan.”
