IESCO achieves 100pc of its targets

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has achieved 100 percent of the targets set by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, according to the company.

According to IESCO, the company demonstrated outstanding performance across key operational and financial indicators during the financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26, establishing itself as one of the best-performing power distribution companies in the country.

In a joint statement, IESCO Chairman Dr. Tahir Masood and Chief Executive, Engineer Choudhry Khalid Mahmood, said the company’s line losses declined from 8.75 percent to 7.6 percent during the last two financial years.

They said this was the lowest level of line losses in IESCO’s history and placed the company among Pakistan’s top-performing distribution companies.

IESCO has also strengthened its financial position and contributed more than Rs6.5 billion in additional revenue to the national exchequer, they said.

IESCO chairman and chief executive attributed the achievements to the government’s comprehensive strategy and the support of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), as well as the guidance and cooperation of the IESCO Board, officers and employees.

They particularly appreciated the dedication and hard work of IESCO’s workforce, saying the results reflected the collective efforts of the organisation.

Dr. Tahir Masood appreciated the performance achieved under the leadership of the Chief Executive of IESCO, Engineer Choudhry Khalid Mahmood, and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining the improved performance.

He said IESCO would continue taking all possible measures to provide customers with better, more efficient and quality services.

The chairman further said IESCO officers and workers would continue playing their role in the development and progress of Pakistan with dedication and commitment, adding that the prosperity of the people was intrinsically linked with the progress of the country.

If IESCO were a human, I will slap it in the face for making such claims. In Islamabad, we are facing daily load shedding and power outage multiple times on any single day. BR can verify my claim.
