KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi on Saturday organized a “Basic Life Support (BLS)” workshop in collaboration with Rescue 1122 and Alkhidmat Disaster Management as part of its Social Summer Internship Program 2026.
A total of 121 male and female students from various universities across Karachi participated in the workshop.
The students received practical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emergency response, basic life-saving techniques and fire safety. The training aimed to equip them with skills to respond effectively in difficult and critical situations.
Along with theoretical learning, special emphasis was placed on practical exercises to help the young participants develop essential skills for saving lives during emergencies.
Addressing the concluding session, Alkhidmat Karachi Executive Director Rashid Qureshi said the Social Summer Internship Program was being conducted across the country and was also progressing successfully in Karachi.
He said the programme aimed to enhance participants’ skills in their respective fields and help them succeed in their professional and personal lives.
Qureshi said Islam placed great emphasis on saving lives, with saving one person’s life regarded as equivalent to saving all humanity. He said serving humanity was a great virtue.
Addressing the students, he urged them to remain committed to serving humanity regardless of their chosen profession. He also encouraged them to join Alkhidmat as volunteers and contribute to its humanitarian and welfare activities.
Trainers and team members from Rescue 1122 were also present at the concluding session and provided training to the students.
