ISLAMABAD: An anti-India protest rally was held in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to observe India’s Independence Day as Black Day, on Saturday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest was organized by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) and was led by its Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said the right to self-determination is the basic right of Kashmiris and the struggle will continue till complete freedom from India. The speakers said that if the United Nations and world powers did not play its role, the Indian army would have to leave the disputed region in disgrace.
They urged the United Nations to play its role in the peaceful resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could be established in the entire South Asian region.
The speakers said India has snatched the freedom of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the dint of military power. They said India has no right to celebrate its Independence Day in the occupied territory as it has the status of a usurper in Jammu and Kashmir.
The speakers said Kashmiris’ lives and property are under serious threat in the region. They said humanity is being suppressed in India every day but the international community and civilized nations remain a silent spectator.
They urged the United Nations to give up its double standard and fulfill its promise to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.
