ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) issued on Sunday notices to 741 more people in Punjab suspected of holding Pakistani identity cards unlawfully.
The Nadra Regional Headquarters has released an initial list of the 741 suspected CNIC holders and sent notices to them. The list includes people from Jhelum district and various tehsils.
All those named have been directed to appear at their relevant NADRA Zonal Office within 15 days and bring all necessary documents with them.
NADRA officials said the identity cards of those who fail to appear within the given period will be blocked. Action will also be taken against the suspected individuals and their family members.
The crackdown on fake and suspected identity documents has also revealed that Afghan refugees obtained Pakistani identity cards unlawfully.
