LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has rolled out a zero-tolerance policy for the province-wide enforcement of its Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS), targeting fake invoices and sales record manipulation in the hotels and restaurants sector.
The move was announced by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra during a performance review meeting with field formations on revenue targets and enforcement strategy. Sipra warned that any negligence in enforcing E-IMS would not be tolerated and ordered intensified crackdowns on fraudulent billing across all districts.
He said digital surveillance would be strengthened to catch businesses manipulating sales records, and that hotels and restaurants must display original invoices with full transaction details along with visible QR codes for consumer verification.
Sipra also stressed expanding the tax net, saying stronger enforcement capacity was key to meeting targets in newly integrated sectors, with E-IMS central to ensuring transparency and preventing fraud.
