ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday and conveyed a letter from President Xi Jinping expressing appreciation for the prime minister’s message on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
During the meeting, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties with China, describing the relationship as an all-weather strategic partnership.
He emphasised the importance of expanding people-to-people contacts and enhancing exchanges between political parties and parliaments of the two countries.
The meeting also covered matters related to bilateral cooperation and regional issues of mutual interest, according to an official statement.
The interaction comes as Islamabad and Beijing continue engagement on a range of economic, diplomatic and regional matters.
