PCB appoints Michael Smith batting coach on two-year contract
The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Australian Michael Smith as the new batting coach for the men's national team on a two-year contract, aiming to strengthen their batting across all formats.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday appointed Australian Michael Smith as the batting coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for two-year contract.
The 46-year old coach, according to the PCB, will work with both the red-ball and white-ball national teams and assume responsibilities as batting coach from the start of the series.
Michael Smith will join the national squad ahead of the upcoming three-match Test series against England,which was scheduled to begin on August 19.
Michael Smith brings extensive playing and coaching experience to the role.
During his career across first-class, List A and Twenty20 cricket, he scored a total of 7,029 runs,including nine centuries and 40 half-centuries. He also holds a Level 4 coaching qualification,one of the highest certifications in cricket coaching.
In his coaching career, Smith has served as batting coach of the Hobart Hurricanes and Cricket Tasmania. He has also been part of the coaching staff of three HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises: Islamabad United, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans.
The PCB expects his appointment to strengthen Pakistan’s batting unit across all formats.
