Subway Pakistan is pursuing legal action after an employee was allegedly assaulted by customers in Multan for enforcing a no-outside-food policy, sparking widespread condemnation online.

Subway Pakistan has taken up the matter with relevant legal authorities and is pursuing necessary action after an employee was allegedly assaulted by a group of customers at one of its outlets in Multan.
In an official statement, Subway Pakistan condemned the incident, saying the safety, dignity and respect of its employees remain its highest priority.
The company said it was deeply concerned over the incident and remained committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for both employees and customers.
“Subway takes every concern seriously and is committed to following due process to ensure accountability,” the company said in a separate post.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation on social media after CCTV footage showing the alleged assault circulated online.
According to media reports, the employee, identified as Fazil, was on duty at a Subway outlet in Multan when a group of customers entered the restaurant carrying samosas purchased from outside.
Subway’s standard operating procedures do not allow customers to consume outside food inside its restaurants. According to Fazil’s statement, he initially asked a fellow staff member to inform the group about the policy, but the customers allegedly ignored the request.
Fazil said one of the men then grabbed him by the neck and dragged him to another part of the restaurant, despite the presence of a female staff member.
He alleged that three men subsequently assaulted him for around five to seven minutes, repeatedly punching and slapping him on the face, back and other parts of his body.
The alleged assault was captured on CCTV and the footage has since gone viral on social media, prompting calls for action against those involved.
Reports suggest that one of the men involved in the incident was a bank manager, although the claim has not been independently confirmed by Business Recorder.
Subway Pakistan said it would continue to pursue the matter through the appropriate legal channels and take necessary steps to ensure accountability.
