LAHORE: Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies in the automobile industry are essential for Pakistan’s industrial growth, and the government is encouraging all such initiatives that contribute positively to the economy, attract investment, and benefit consumers.
Addressing the launch ceremony of the MG ZS Hybrid Plus, organized by MG City Lahore, the finance minister said that the promotion of modern hybrid technology is a welcome development for Pakistan’s automobile sector. He stated that environment-friendly, fuel-efficient, and technologically advanced vehicles are the need of the future as they not only promote efficient energy consumption but also play a significant role in reducing environmental pollution.
The minister said the Punjab government is taking practical measures to promote investment, industrial development, and a business-friendly environment. Private sector investment, the adoption of modern technology, and the local availability of products meeting international standards would contribute to strengthening the national economy and creating new employment opportunities, he added.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the minister congratulated MG City Lahore on the successful launch of the new vehicle and extended his best wishes for its future success. Earlier, the minister inspected the newly-launched MG vehicle and reviewed its features and functions.
