ISLAMABAD: The United States Congressional delegation expressed interest in expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, education, technology, energy, and regional stability.

The US Congressional delegation expressed these views during a meeting of the Pakistan–United States Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), held under the convenership of MNA Syed Hussain Tariq at Parliament House on Tuesday.

The United States Congressional Delegation (CODEL) was led by Representative Ryan Zinke (Montana) and Representative Michael Baumgartner (Washington).

The meeting was attended by members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, including Danyal Chaudhry, MNA; Syed Amin-ul-Haque, MNA; Noor Alam Khan, MNA; and Dr. Amjad Ali Khan, MNA.

Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional developments, economic cooperation, investment opportunities, counter-terrorism, and parliamentary engagement. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through sustained dialogue, enhanced parliamentary cooperation, and mutually beneficial collaboration.

Welcoming the delegation, Syed Hussain Tariq, Convener of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, underscored the importance of Pakistan–United States relations and highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties through sustained dialogue, mutual respect, and constructive engagement. He emphasized the need to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, education, technology, energy, climate resilience, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges.

The visiting Congressional Delegation appreciated the longstanding Pakistan– United States partnership and reaffirmed the importance of regular parliamentary exchanges in fostering mutual trust and understanding. They expressed interest in expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, education, technology, energy, and regional stability, while emphasizing stronger institutional linkages between the two legislatures.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing satisfaction over the productive exchange of views and reaffirming their commitment to deepening Pakistan–United States relations through regular parliamentary engagement for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
