ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government, via the Petroleum Division, has announced an increase in the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) for July 24 following the latest daily price review of petroleum products.

The petrol price is up by Rs 4.40 per litre, rising from Rs 327.12 to Rs 331.52 per litre, whereas, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is up by Rs 3.62 per litre, rising from Rs 375.04 to Rs 378.66 per litre.

According to a statement issued by the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices based on the government’s updated petroleum pricing mechanism.

Since the government decision on daily review of petroleum prices, the cumulative increase stands at Rs 15.37 per litre for petrol and Rs 24.31 per litre for HSD. Meanwhile, the petroleum levy remains unchanged at Rs 80 per litre on petrol and Rs 70.82 per litre on HSD. Climate Support Levy (CSL) is maintained at Rs 5 per litre.

Custom Duty is set at Rs 17.28 per litre on petrol and Rs 15.68 per litre on HSD and Premium (incl. freight) is held steady at USD 10.98 per barrel for petrol and USD 5.1 per barrel for HSD.

In a related development, the All Pakistan Petrol Tankers Association have announced to go on strike till addressing their demand.

The hike reflects sharp increases in the Arab Gulf Platts seven-day average. International petrol prices stood at USD 105.35 per bbl on Thursday, while HSD surged to USD 143.97 per barrel with an exchange rate against dollar around Rs 278.
