ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Gilgit has claimed to have arrested a suspect in an alleged espionage case.
The suspect, Qamar Ali, allegedly shared sensitive national security-related information with a foreign intelligence agency through social media, according to an official statement issued by the agency on Thursday.
The NCCIA arrested the accused in a case registered under Sections 6, 7 and 10 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016.
During the inquiry, digital forensic examination of the accused’s seized mobile device allegedly revealed the sharing of GPS-tagged photographs of sensitive military installations, including PAF Qadri Base, Skardu Airport, and CMH Skardu, with a foreign intelligence agency.
