KARACHI: Government of Sindh spokesperson Nadir Gabol paid a detailed visit to the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed ANF MATRC (Drug Rehabilitation) Centre in Lyari, where he reviewed the medical facilities, residential arrangements, rehabilitation programmes, vocational training, and other services being provided to patients undergoing treatment.

The facility is one of five rehabilitation centres operating with financial support from the Government of Sindh and managed under the supervision of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

Gabol expressed satisfaction with the quality of services, as well as the professionalism and dedication of the doctors and staff.

Later, he visited the newly established DIGP South Drug Screening Centre in Kalakot, Lyari, which has been set up in collaboration with the Sindh Police. During the visit, police officials briefed him on the centre’s objectives, the progress of construction work, and the rehabilitation strategy designed to support individuals suffering from drug addiction.

Speaking on the occasion, Nadir Gabol reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to eliminating the menace of narcotics from the province. He said that the rehabilitation centre established in Lyari with the support of the ANF would play a vital role in the treatment and rehabilitation of drug-dependent youth, enabling them to become productive and responsible members of society.

He further stated that the government is taking concrete measures to ensure that residents of rehabilitation centres receive quality healthcare, psychological counselling, social reintegration, and vocational training, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and successfully reintegrate into society as active and responsible citizens.
