ISLAMABAD: Against the apparent backdrop of worsening security situation in Balochistan, Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has reiterated the federal government’s commitment to addressing the challenges being faced by the people of the province, in achieving their legitimate aspirations for economic prosperity and development, within the confines of the Constitution of Pakistan.
He said this in a meeting with the President of National Party Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, according to an official statement issued Sunday.
The DPM, who also holds the positions of Foreign Minister and the Leader of the House in Senate, received Malik Baloch, along with parliamentary members of his party.
Dr Baloch thanked Dar, and said that the National Party was willing to work together with all for the betterment and welfare of the people of Balochistan, the statement said.
He highlighted that certain elements operating in the province had “neither support, nor legitimacy in the hearts of the people of Balochistan,” the statement added.
Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Rana Sanaullah Khan and Special Assistant Tariq Bajwa also attended the meeting, the statement said.
