KARACHI: An introductory meeting was held at the Sindh Information Department following the posting of Kashif Gulzar Sheikh as Secretary Information, Government of Sindh. During the meeting, the Secretary was given a comprehensive briefing on the overall performance of the Department, its ongoing projects, and the functions of its various directorates.
On the occasion, Secretary Information Kashif Gulzar Sheikh held individual meetings with the directors of the Department’s various directorates and discussed in detail the responsibilities, functions, and professional obligations of their respective offices.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Information Kashif Gulzar Sheikh stated that the primary responsibility of the Information Department is to effectively communicate the Government of Sindh’s development projects, public welfare initiatives and policies to the people. He emphasised that no negligence or laxity in this regard would be tolerated.
He further said that, to effectively counter negative propaganda against the Government, it is essential to provide the public with timely and accurate information regarding the government’s welfare schemes and development initiatives. He added that all available resources would be utilized to achieve this objective.
