According to the police, Group Captain Asim was driving past when he noticed a motorcyclist allegedly harassing and trying to force a woman onto his vehicle. Demonstrating immense bravery, the officer pulled over and intervened to protect the woman.
During the scuffle, the woman managed to run to the other side of the officer’s car for safety. The suspect, identified as Saad, engaged in a heated argument with the officer before suddenly opening fire. Group Captain Asim sustained fatal bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The police have registered a case, initiated a thorough investigation, and recorded the victim’s statement. In her account, the woman revealed that the suspect is a colleague at her workplace.
