LAHORE: Greater agricultural mechanization is essential to improving farm productivity, increasing crop yields and supporting the long-term development of Pakistan’s agriculture sector, according to Al-Ghazi Tractors Limited (AGTL) Chief Executive Officer Yasin Seker.

The remarks came following meetings with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan and Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Industries and Production Saif Anjum in Islamabad, where discussions focused on the future of Pakistan’s agricultural machinery industry and the importance of effective public-private collaboration.

The AGTL delegation comprised Chief Executive Officer Yasin Seker, Chief Financial Officer Javed Iqbal, Company Secretary Mansoor Khan and Senior Manager Corporate Communications, PR and Government Relations Foha Raza, said an announcement by the company on Wednesday. During the meetings, both sides discussed the current outlook of the agricultural machinery sector, the role of government policy in enabling mechanization, and the importance of sustained engagement between policymakers and industry stakeholders to support Pakistan’s farmers and strengthen the agriculture sector.

Speaking after the meetings, Yasin Seker said, “We deeply value the opportunity to engage with government on the issues that shape our industry. A close and constructive partnership between the public and private sectors is what will move Pakistan’s agriculture forward. Food security depends on a more productive agriculture industry, and that means more tractors in our fields, higher yields, and stronger harvests, none of which is possible without clear policy and guidance from government to steer the way. Al-Ghazi Tractors is committed to playing its full part in that effort, standing with the country and its farming community to the fullest.”

The AGTL reiterated that consistent policy support, industry collaboration and continued investment in agricultural mechanization will play a vital role in building a resilient and productive agriculture sector for Pakistan.
