ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday unveiled its candidates for the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections, nominating contenders for 35 constituencies across the region, including general and refugee seats.

According to the list issued by the party, Asfar Shahid will contest from LA-1 Mirpur-I, Qasim Majeed from LA-2 Mirpur-II (Chakswari), Yasir Sultan from LA-3 Mirpur-III (Mirpur City), Chaudhry Sohaib Arshad from LA-4 Mirpur-IV (Khari Sharif), and Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf from LA-5 Bhimber-I (Barnala).

In Kotli division, the PPP awarded tickets to Malik Zafar for LA-8, Javed Iqbal Bhadhanvi for LA-9, Chaudhry Yasin for LA-10, Chaudhry Akhlaq for LA-11, and Chaudhry Yasin for LA-12.

For constituencies in the Bagh and Poonch divisions, the party nominated Sardar Qamar Zaman, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Sardar Saud Sadiq, Sardar Yaqoob, Sardar Muhammad Abid Khan, and Sardar Faheem Akhtar Rabbani.

The PPP also announced its nominees for Muzaffarabad and Neelum Valley constituencies, including Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazil Naqvi, Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed Khan, Mubashir Munir Awan, Ashfaq Zafar, and Diwan Ali Chughtai.

For the Jammu refugee constituencies reserved for refugees residing in Pakistan, the party named Colonel Qadeer Chaudhry (Retd), Chaudhry Asif Gujjar, Chaudhry Ahsan Ismail Gujjar, ShaheenKausar Dar, Raja Shahid Iqbal, and Chaudhry Fakhar Zaman.

In the Valley refugee constituencies, PPP nominated Ameer Abdul Ghaffar Lone for LA-40 (Karachi), Ghulam Abbas Mir for LA-41 (Lahore), Javed Butt for LA-43 (Rawalpindi), Muhammad Rashid Islam Butt for LA-44 (Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Attock), and Abdul Majeed Khan for LA-45 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).
