LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has intensified its crackdown on electricity theft in Kasur Circle, arresting 14 individuals during joint operations conducted with the support of Rangers in the Phool Nagar and Chunian divisions of Kasur district.
According to LESCO officials, enforcement teams carried out targeted raids in the Sarfraz Nagar Sub-Division of Phool Nagar and the Chunian East Sub-Division, where they detected 20 illegal direct electricity connections. The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 suspects involved in power theft.
During the raids, authorities seized 49 electricity meters and a transformer, while several unauthorised low-tension (LT) power lines were also removed.
Officials said the campaign yielded cash recoveries amounting to Rs1.585 million, with the total value of recoveries and penalties surpassing Rs2.505 million.
Legal action has been initiated against the accused, and prosecution documents are being submitted to the relevant police stations for the registration of cases, the officials said.
