ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Ghana on Thursday agreed to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation, with a particular focus on joint training, counter-terrorism cooperation, and defence production during high-level military engagements held in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Ghana, called on Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.
Upon his arrival at GHQ, the visiting military chief was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out Tri-Services contingent.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and avenues for expanding bilateral defence cooperation. They agreed to enhance military-to-military relations, particularly in the areas of joint training, counter-terrorism, and defence production.
The visiting dignitary praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting regional stability, the ISPR said.
