LAHORE: A high-level delegation from Malaysia visited Mansoorah, the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, where both sides reaffirmed the longstanding bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Malaysia.
The Malaysian delegation, led by Malaysian Member of Parliament and President of the Ulema Council of the Islamic Party of Malaysia (PAS), Dato Haji Ahmad bin Saad Yahya, held a meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Vice Emir Liaqat Baloch.
The delegation included Malaysian Member of Parliament and PAS Shura member Haji Datuk Awang bin Hashim, along with Muhammad Rasool bin Azmal, Muhammad Izzat bin Zakaria, Muhammad bin Ismail, Rafidah binti Ramli, and Haryati binti Mukhtar.
Representing Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan were Director of Foreign Affairs Asif Luqman Qazi, Professor Ayub Munir, Professor Iqbal Nakyana, Hafiz Muhammad Abdullah, and other senior leaders.
Welcoming the guests, Liaqat Baloch said the people of Pakistan hold Malaysia and its citizens in high esteem and affection. He emphasised that the relationship between the two countries is rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, and a common commitment to the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
“Pakistan is Malaysia’s second home,” Baloch remarked, expressing hope for stronger people-to-people contacts and greater cooperation between Islamic movements and institutions in both countries.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Dato Haji Ahmad bin Saad Yahya expressed pleasure at visiting Pakistan and meeting the Jamaat-e-Islami leadership. He said the people of Malaysia possess deep admiration and affection for Pakistan and regard the country as a close and trusted brother.
He noted that Pakistan and Malaysia, as brotherly Muslim nations, share common aspirations and values, adding that the two countries are “one heart and two souls” in their commitment to Islamic solidarity and cooperation.
The meeting also included discussions on issues concerning the Muslim world, strengthening bilateral relations, and enhancing cooperation between Islamic organizations in both countries.
