Power theft: IESCO intensifies crackdown

ISLAMABAD: CEO IESCO, Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, while sharing details of the ongoing crackdown against electricity thieves, stated that operations are being carried out continuously and without discrimination across all operation circles. The objective of these actions is to eliminate the menace of electricity theft from the IESCO region.

He stated that during April 2026, more than 66,000 meters were checked, and 87 electricity thieves were caught during these operations. Fines exceeding Rs9.1 million were imposed against 166,000 detection units, meters were disconnected, and arrests were also made.
