LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, in his message on International Labour Day, stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the government of Punjab is undertaking historic initiatives for the welfare of the working class.
He highlighted that ration cards are being distributed to millions of workers across Punjab, marking a significant step towards providing relief to laborers. The Minister emphasized that the Chief Minister’s vision is to restore the rightful dignity and status of workers, which is why healthcare facilities in social security hospitals are being upgraded to meet international standards.
He further stated that immediate disbursement of death grants to widows and orphans of workers is being ensured to provide timely financial support to affected families. Sohail Shaukat Butt added that pro-labour initiatives will uplift the living standards of workers, and financial assistance will reach every deserving labourer.
He also noted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is personally monitoring welfare projects for workers, reflecting the government’s strong commitment to the well-being of the labour community.
