- Say operation aims to restore law and order in the border regions
Tensions have once again escalated along the Pak-Afghan border following unprovoked firing and aggression by the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij, drawing a severe and effective response from the Pakistan Army, Aaj News reported citing security sources on Tuesday.
According to the security sources, Pakistan Army troops targeted Afghan Taliban defensive positions in the Chaman sector. These retaliatory strikes resulted in the destruction of several key Afghan Taliban checkposts.
The operation aims to restore law and order in the border regions and deter any form of external aggression.
Sources said that the military action targeted and neutralised the Sarshan, Al-Marjan, and Edhi posts, while also causing significant damage to military vehicles and other installations.
Security sources further emphasised that the forces remain unwavering in their resolve to defend the motherland, vowing to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists and their facilitators at any cost. A clear message was conveyed that Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq will continue until all designated objectives are achieved.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij along the Pak-Afghan border.
In a post on his Facebook account, the interior minister paid rich tribute to the Pakistan Army for delivering an immediate and crushing response to the enemy, praising the professional capabilities of the armed forces.
Minister Naqvi stated that the Pakistan Army foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy through its timely intervention.
“The brave sons of the Pakistan Army are our pride,” Naqvi remarked, adding that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to give a fitting response to any act of aggression.
