PM Shebaz extends Easter greetings, reaffirms commitment to minority rights

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and across the world on Sunday, highlighting the importance of peace, unity, and interfaith harmony, according to an official statement.
In his message marking Easter, the prime minister conveyed warm wishes on behalf of the nation, expressing hope that the occasion would bring peace, stability, and prosperity globally.
He emphasized that in today’s challenging times, the universal message of peace shared by all religions is more vital than ever.
Sharif noted that Easter symbolizes love, hope, sacrifice, and forgiveness, while also encouraging tolerance, brotherhood, and goodwill among people of different backgrounds.
He commended Pakistan’s Christian community for its meaningful contributions to the country’s social and economic development, recognizing their active role across various sectors.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment, the prime minister stressed the importance of protecting the rights of all citizens, particularly minorities, ensuring equal access to opportunities in education, the economy, and beyond.
He added that this commitment is grounded in Islamic principles, the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the Constitution of Pakistan.
Underscoring the strength found in diversity, Sharif highlighted that religious harmony and multiculturalism are essential pillars of the nation.
