LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said on Tuesday that there is no room for spreading sectarianism in Islam.
During his visit to the shrines of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hajveri and Bibi Pakdaman, the governor offered “fateha” and special prayers for the progress, prosperity and stability of the country. He also offered “nawafil” in the premises of the Data Darbar shrine. He also reviewed the ongoing renovation work at Data Darbar.
The governor further said that the renovation and beautification of religious places and shrines during the current government is commendable. He said that making every kind of facility possible for the pilgrims visiting the shrines is the top priority of the government. He added that the Sufis spread Islam in the sub-continent through their good deeds. He stressed the need to promote peace and brotherhood by following the teachings of the Sufis.
