ISLAMABAD: Jazz showcased its 5G readiness to a delegation from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) during a visit to its headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday, ahead of the formal award of Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS)/5G licenses scheduled for Thursday (today).

During the visit, a Jazz team showcased the network’s 5G capabilities, highlighting its readiness to deliver high-speed, next-generation connectivity and the performance potential of its upgraded network.

Following the briefing, PTA officials joined the Jazz team for a live 5G experience testing on selected locations in Islamabad, experiencing the true essence of 5G through its speed, responsiveness, and real-time performance in the field.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs at JazzWorld, said: “We are pleased to demonstrate Jazz’s 5G readiness to the PTA. Our recent spectrum acquisition and continued investment in network infrastructure have positioned us to deliver a high-quality 5G experience from day one. As Pakistan prepares to enter the 5G era, our focus remains on ensuring that next-generation connectivity is introduced in a way that creates real value while continuing to expand access for millions who are still unconnected.”

The engagement follows Pakistan’s latest spectrum auction, where Jazz emerged as the only operator to secure spectrum across all new bands—700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3500 MHz—tripling its holding from 94.4 MHz to 284.4 MHz. This positions Jazz to deliver wide-area coverage and high-capacity services at scale, with 700 MHz enabling greater reach in underserved and rural areas.
