LAHORE: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman in his message on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia said that unjustified hatred and prejudice are being shown against Muslims around the world.

Emir JI stated that Islam is a religion of brotherhood, love, tolerance, peace, and security. Islam not only guarantees the rights of minorities but also teaches respect for all religions, he remarked.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that in Pakistan, all minorities enjoy religious freedom and their places of worship are fully protected, adding minorities perform their religious duties with dignity and respect and live freely without fear.

He further said that in many parts of the world, extremist elements are promoting hatred and prejudice against Muslims, and under the name of Islamophobia, Muslims are being subjected to oppression and violence, which is highly condemnable. Incidents of disrespect toward the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) cause mental distress to nearly two billion Muslims worldwide.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman demanded that the United Nations should play its role in addressing Islamophobia and ensure strict implementation of international laws to prevent the increasing incidents of violence and oppression.
