LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Northern Circle carried out a major operation against electricity theft in the Dholnawal area, in Lahore, where an ice factory and a cold storage facility were caught stealing power.
According to officials, the raid was conducted under the leadership of SC Muhammad Muzammil and supervised by XEN Gulshan Ravi Muhammad Farooq. The operation was executed by SDO Dhoolnawal Faizan Ahmed along with the sub-division staff.
During the inspection, both facilities were found illegally drawing electricity through a direct connection from a three-phase supply using a 4-core cable. The illegal setup caused an estimated loss of nearly Rs10 million to LESCO, the officials said. The responsible individual was arrested on the spot and an FIR has been registered.
