ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday visited the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad and met Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moqadam to express grief over the tragic death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
During the visit, Maulana Fazlur Rehman wrote his condolences in the Embassy’s book and strongly condemned US-Israel naked aggression against Iran. He highlighted that Iran is defending itself and Palestine.
Rehman urged unity within the Islamic world, emphasising that Muslims must stand together against Zionism and foreign interference. He also questioned reliance on peace efforts led by US leadership, calling America an “enemy of humanity.”
The Iranian Ambassador appreciated Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s visit, praising JUI-F’s role in strengthening Pak-Iran relations, and stated, “The victory will be of the Islamic world.”
Moreover, Fazal said that Pakistan must clearly define its national stance as tensions escalate across the region and termed the prevailing regional and global situation as extremely alarming, and called for an in-camera session of Parliament.
