Remaining SOEs: PM directs ministries/divisions to share all cases with CCoSOEs

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed all the Ministries/Divisions to share all cases of remaining State Owned Entities (SOEs) with the Cabinet Committee on State Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs).

In a letter to all the Ministries / Divisions Secretary Cabinet, Kamran Ali Afzal stated that during the meeting of the Cabinet held on February 4, 2026 it was apprised that so far only 24 SOEs had been included in the Privatisation Programme (2024-29) of the Ministry of Privatisation.

Upon consideration of this information, the PM directed that Secretaries of all Federal Government Ministries/Divisions must forward, without further delay, cases of the remaining SOEs in their purview that had been earmarked for privatisation by the CCoSOEs to the Privatisation Commission for inclusion in the Privatisation Programme, to ensure the implementation of the Government’s economic reform agenda at the earliest.
