LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to further tighten security arrangements across the province during Ramazan.
She orders foolproof security at mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship and directs the deployment of additional personnel at bazaars, markets and public spaces. The chief minister also instructs officials to ensure the installation and monitoring of CCTV cameras, walkthrough gates and searchlights.
She calls for intensified police patrolling, snap checking and search operations around places of worship.
At sensitive locations, authorities are directed to implement a three-layer security plan for Friday and Taraweeh congregations, including the placement of barriers and barbed wire where necessary.
“Protection of life and property of the people during Ramazan is ensured at all costs,” the chief minister says, reaffirming the government’s commitment to public safety during the holy month.
