LAHORE: The provincial ministers on Thursday reiterated the Punjab government’s support for the Kashmiris, saying February 5 is a symbol of solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
In his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique stated that India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir represents a dark chapter in history. “On February 5, Pakistanis around the world express their solidarity with the Kashmiris. The Indian government cannot suppress the rights of Kashmiris indefinitely,” he added.
He asserted that the Kashmiri people must be granted their right to self-determination. “The hearts of the Pakistani people beat in unity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, and the dark times in occupied Kashmir will soon come to an end,” he added.
Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said that the world has seen the disturbing face of India’s actions in the changing global situation. He added that Pakistan will continue to raise its voice against human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir at all international forums. On this day, the Pakistani nation pays tribute to the sacrifices made by Kashmiris, and every Pakistani supports the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people.
“Pakistan appeals to the international community to support the freedom of the Kashmiri people and to put an end to the oppression,” he added.
