ISLAMABAD: In an unprecedented display of infighting, two Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers – Iqbal Afridi from Khyber district and Khurram Shehzad from Faisalabad – on Friday engaged in a fiery physical confrontation inside the National Assembly.

The drama unfolded when the two lawmakers exchanged heated words at the gates of Parliament House, quickly escalating to a shoving match, with only the intervention of fellow parliamentarians preventing it from turning into a full-blown brawl.

Afridi, visibly furious, vented his frustrations, accusing PTI “traitors” and those loyal to the powers that be of actively blocking him from raising critical issues in the House.

“An operation is going on in my constituency, but these “traitors” don’t even let me ask questions about it,” Afridi raged, blaming internal party factions for silencing his voice.

But the showdown didn’t end there. When Barrister Gohar, the acting PTI chairman, tried to step in and mediate the situation, Afridi exploded, accusing him of masterminding a smear campaign against him.

“Gohar is the one behind all this – he’s got goons on his payroll to destroy my reputation,” Afridi alleged, as tensions reached a boiling point.

This incident marks yet another chapter in PTI’s internal struggles, as personal rivalries and ideological clashes threaten to tear the party apart from within.
