KARACHI: The Consuls General of China and Iran in Karachi expressed heartfelt sorrow and grief over the loss of lives and property in the tragic Gul Plaza fire incident in the megacity.
The Chinese Consulate General in Karachi expressed deepest condolences over the lives lost in the saddening accident, and extended sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and the injured. “China and Pakistan are a community with a shared future, standing together through thick and thin. At this difficult time, our hearts and thoughts stay firmly with the government and people of Karachi city and Sindh.”
The Chinese Consul added that it’s our strong belief that the brave people of Karachi city and Sindh will overcome the tragedy and heal from the grief at an early date, and we will further enhance our cooperation in various fields to contribute more to the betterment and development of Karachi city and beyond.
However, in a message, Akbar Eisa Zadeh, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, said he had learned of the tragic incident with “profound sorrow and deep regret”.
He extended condolences to the Sindh government, including the governor and chief minister, the people of Karachi, and the bereaved families. “I pray to Almighty God to grant divine mercy to those who lost their lives in this incident and to bestow patience and perseverance upon the survivors,” the Iranian consul general said.
