KARACHI: Local mobile phone companies manufactured/assembled 2.49 million units during Nov 2025, up 8 percent YoY compared to 2.31 million units in Nov 2024.

According to latest data released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), cumulatively, local manufacturing/assembly reached 27.6 million units in 11M2025, down 3 percent YoY.

Analysts at Topline securities said that the modest increase in local production is due to a slight recovery as production has begun to normalise following the earlier slowdown and inventory build-up.

Of the 27.6 million units produced during 11M2025, 53 percent (14.51mn units) were smartphones, while the remaining 47 percent (13.09 million units) were 2G phones.

Pakistan fulfilled 88 percent of its mobile phone demand through local manufacturing/assembly in 11M2025, down from the 10M2025 average of 93 percent. This decline was largely attributable to a higher import mix following the launch of the Apple iPhone 17.

Top 10 locally assembled brands during 11M2025 include Infinix (3.47 million units), followed by VGO Tel (3.07million units), Vivo (2.57million units), Itel (2.2million units), Tecno (1.73millionunits), Samsung (1.57million units), Xiaomi (1.35million units), Q Mobile (1.06million units), Realme (1.0million units), and G’Five (0.92million units).

Going forward, according to Topline mobile phone sales expected to grow by 7-8 percent YoY over the next 12 months, supported by a stable PKR, easing inflation, and improving consumer purchasing power.

Within the listed space, Airlink Communication (AIRLINK) and Lucky Cement (LUCK) stand to benefit from rising demand, as their locally assembled brands like Tecno, Xiaomi, and Samsung rank among the top 10 in Pakistan.
