HYDERABAD: President Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry (HCSTSI), Muhammad Saleem Memon, addressed the industrialists during a Meet & Greet session with Rawal Sharjeel Memon, held at the platform of the Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade & Industry.

He said that HCSTSI has been consistently and persistently highlighting the longstanding issues of SITE Hyderabad at all relevant government forums in the broader interest of industrial growth, employment generation, and economic stability. He informed that as a result of these continuous efforts, Rs 1,100 million infrastructure development grant was approved for SITE Hyderabad in 2023; however, the complete release of the grant is still awaited. He also stated that despite the formation of coordination committees under the supervision of the Commissioner, Hyderabad Division, no meeting has been convened during the past six months.

This is in clear violation of the explicit directives issued by the chief secretary of Sindh, who had instructed all relevant departments that no infrastructure-related work should be initiated or completed without the approval of the Works Committee, comprising officials along with representatives of HCSTSI and HSATI. Regrettably, not only have these directives not been followed, but members of the Works Committee have also not been consulted at any stage, raising serious concerns regarding coordination, transparency, and adherence to established procedures.

He strongly urged the Sindh government to ensure the immediate disbursement of the approved funds so that SITE Hyderabad may be developed as a model industrial zone with improved infrastructure, utilities, and facilities.

Addressing the gathering of industrialists at the platform of the at HSATI, Rawal Sharjeel Memon assured the business community that a joint coordination meeting would be convened shortly with Senior Minister Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Provincial Minister for Industries & Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, and officers of all concerned departments to address critical issues related to electricity, gas supply, and industrial infrastructure.
