KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reported significant disruptions to its flight schedule due to severe fog conditions affecting major cities including Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, and Faisalabad.
According to the details, visibility at affected airports has been dramatically reduced during the dense fog episodes, presenting substantial challenges for safe aircraft takeoffs and landings. The low visibility conditions have forced airline operators to take precautionary measures to maintain safety standards.
The national carrier has urged passengers travelling on domestic and international routes to check their flight status before heading to the airport, as temporary schedule adjustments have been implemented to ensure passenger safety and minimize unnecessary delays.
PIA further said that the schedule modifications are temporary and have been introduced primarily to prioritize passenger safety while avoiding operational disruptions that could strand travellers.
