Operations against dangerous buildings, illegal constructions continue
KARACHI: On the special instructions of Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, aggressive operations against dangerous buildings and illegal constructions continue in the city.
SBCA continues its campaign to demolish dangerous buildings on a daily basis to protect the lives of citizens. Demolition of the buildings declared dangerous in Upper Gizri, Baghdadi, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad and Saddar South also continued on Tuesday. So far, 15 buildings declared dangerous have been demolished. Demolition work is underway on 5 buildings, and the work of removing debris is also progressing rapidly.
According to the SBCA report, demolition is underway in Plot No. 330 and 330/A Upper Gizri, 136,138 Baghdadi, 6/10,1G Nazimabad 1, 2/3,5D Nazimabad 5, 22/8 Liaquatabad and 5,GK 05 Saddar South.
Strict precautionary measures in view of security concerns, Sindh Building Control Police and regional police are also present with the demolition team.
The aim of this campaign is to protect the precious lives of citizens and move the city towards safe and sustainable construction.
These buildings were declared dangerous based on the recommendations of the Technical Committee for Dangerous Buildings. This committee consists of expert engineers who regularly inspect the technical condition of the buildings, structural hazards and potential damage.
