PESHAWAR: State Bank of Pakistan, Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC) Peshawar celebrated Pakistan Women Entrepreneurship Day 2025 with great enthusiasm at its premises.

The event aimed to highlight the significance of women’s economic participation and strengthen the ecosystem that enables women-led enterprises to grow sustainably.

The programme brought together representatives from Business Incubation Centers, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chitral, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Circle Women, UN Women, and SMEDA, reflecting the collective commitment of public, private, and development sectors to promote women’s entrepreneurship in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In addition to the stalls set up by various banks, 30 women entrepreneurs exhibited their products, showcasing the growing vibrancy and potential of women-led businesses in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehreyar Khan, Chief Manager, SBP BSC Peshawar, emphasised the critical role of women’s empowerment in achieving inclusive economic growth.

He highlighted SBP’s commitment to advancing gender-inclusive financial policies and strengthening avenues for women’s financial inclusion under the Banking on Equality framework.

The Chief Guest, Prof Dr Safia Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar, praised SBP’s efforts in providing platforms that encourage women’s business participation and highlighted the transformative impact of women-led enterprises on households, communities, and the broader economy.

The ceremony concluded with appreciation for all participating institutions and women entrepreneurs for their contributions, while SBP BSC Peshawar reaffirmed its resolve to continue supporting initiatives that foster an enabling environment for women entrepreneurs across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
